INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS FOR “GOPABANDHU SIKHYA SAHAYATA
YOJANA” FOR THE YEAR 2018-19 AND 2019-20

A financial assistance scheme captioned as “Gopabandhu Sikhya Sahayata Yojana’ is being implemented by Higher Education Department, Govt, of Odisha vide Resolution No. HE-BUD-Policy-0002-2018-1189/HE, Dated. 16.01.2019 for the students pursuing General / Technical / Professional Degree and Post Graduate courses in the University and Educational Institutions of Odisha (both Government and Non-Government) belonging to families of a) HIV / AIDS affected parents, b) Households without shelter, c) Destitute/living on alms, d) Manual Scavengers, e) Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups, f) Legally released bonded labourers and g) Single mother family.

The financial assistance shall be provided to students of above said category @ Rs.20,000/- per annum for their entire course period. The detailed guidelines, advertisement and application form are available in the website of Higher Education department (www.dheodisha.gov.in). Desirous students can download the application form from the Department website, fill it up and submit it to the Principal/ Head of the Institution of their respective Colleges/lnstitutions by 30.11.2019.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE:
a) The student must be a resident of Odisha and should belong to aforementioned category families.
b) Annual family income of the student from all sources must not exceed Rs.1.20 lakh.
c) The students should pursue their Graduate and Post- Graduate course on regular mode in any General/Technical or Professional courses in any Govt, or Govt, recognized private Colleges/ Institutes /Universities of the State

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION

7. Certificate being a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups from the District Welfare Officer Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups
8. Certificate being a Legally Released Bonded Labourer from the District Labour Officer Legally Released Bonded Labourer

SCHEDULED TIME LINE

ACTIVITIES DATE
Submission of application by the students with relevant documents to the Institute By 30th November, 2019
Scrutiny & forwarding of application by Institutes to concerned Collectors & District Magistrates. By 15th December, 2019
Recommendation of applications by the concerned Collectors to the Institutions By 31st December, 2019
Forward of recommended applications by the Institutes to the Higher Education Department By 15th January, 2020

The applications should be complete in all respects and should be accompanied by all relevant documents. Applications, incomplete in any respect, are liable to be rejected. The applications received after the last date will not be considered.
