Engagement of Theatre Artist for Repertory Company, Sikkim Centre.
National School of Drama invites applications on plain paper from THEATRE ARTISTS to fill up vacant posts of Artists Grade A, B & Casual Artist on contract basis in the Repertory Company, Sikkim as per the details given below:
Name of post : NSD, Sikkim, Repertory Company Artist
Group: Grade A, B, Casual Artist
Number of post: 4 (Grade A), 16 (Grade B) & 5 (Casual as per requirement)
Term of Post (Grade A and B) : 6 Years including 2 years period performed as casual artist. However the period will be extended on the basis of assessment of the artists every year.
Salary : 18,000/- per month, likely to be revised as per grade of Artist.
Essential qualifications required for direct recruitment :
- 12th passed from Centre Board of Secondary Education or other recognized Board. However preference will be given to Graduation from any reorganized university.
- Must hold Certificate of One Year Residential Certificate Course in Dramatic Arts from Sikkim Theatre Training Centre or from other theatre training institute.
- Experience of participating in 10 important production in Hindi or any other Indian Language performing major roles.
- Proficiency in Hindi language or any other north eastern regional language.
Note: The above Qualifications/Experience at the discretion of the competent authority, may be relaxed in favor of candidate otherwise found suitable or candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes or Scheduled Caste.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of dance, music and allied art. b.
- Experience in direction of the play and or stage craft.
- Knowledge of one or two regional language/dialects. d. d. Knowledge of acting theories and styles

No of years experience required : Minimum 5 years Grade ‘A’, 3 years Grade ‘B’ and 2 Years Casual Artist

The new session will commence from August 2019. Persons already employed should route their applications through proper channel. No TA / DA will be paid for attending the audition/interview. However, SC / ST candidates will be paid IInd class railway fare by the shortest route from their place of residence to New Delhi and back, on production of railway/bus receipt.
